The Sutton Report

What an amazing day! Today the whole reason for our trip came together with the opening of the  Bowral High Peak Sneng Friendship Library. Years 5 and 6, as well as parents and the local community came together to be a part of the first independent library to be opened in the Siem Reap Province.
A definite highlight for me was reading a book to a few children only to suddenly find myself surrounded by many eager faces, listening intently to a story in a language they couldn’t even understand. As a teacher it was a definite highlight.
This excitement to discover new books continued after the official opening, when we looked into the library to discover it was packed full of children of all ages, pouring through books and reading aloud together. An absolute joy to see and a privilege to be a part of.

  1. Hi Amanda, glad it all went well with the library. Years of work and dedication has really paid off!
Could you ask someone there to confirm time & flight number for when you get into Sydney? There is some confusion here with some thinking it is Thursay and some Friday. Even the school thinks it is Thursday!
